Do you need that little extra to get started?

While you are laying in bed watching YouTubers and scrolling through Instagram posts, you start to get all excited about going out and taking some picture first thing tomorrow morning. Set the alarm and light out, and before you know it, morning has arrived!

All that motivation I had last night must have gotten lost in my bed because I can't find it. I'm thinking about the camera, if it's charged, memory card, is it full, where is it?

All of this is a major distraction and sometimes drains the initial hype you had the night before. I know if you have a passion for photography like me, you want to go out and take pics, all of the time. You have the skills, time and enthusiasm... but it's that very first step, just getting out the door.

I've always said that the hardest part of any just is Just Getting Started. Once you get that ball rolling it doesn't stop, coffee helps along the way, but you know what I mean.

I'm going to share with you my technique, it works for me and not only for photography but a lot of other aspects of my life, like exercise. As an example, I love to run, nobody has to tell me how important exercise is, I get it, I want to run. Sometimes it's easy just easier not to when I'm not prepared. So to make sure that doesn't happen, I lay out my running clothes, socks, sneakers and a water bottle all ready to go early morning or the night before. When I wake up or get home from work, there is the pile looking up at me, saying are we ready, lets go, you have no excuses buddy! LOL

This ties right into my photography hobby. Hours or the night before I get everything ready like you mom did before a vacation when you were younger. I clean the camera, charge all the batteries, check the memory card, and bag it all up. When the morning comes, BAM, there it is, sitting, steering at you like a dog that hasn't been out in two days.

Now, I have no distractions, no excuse, get up, get dressed, grab the bag and GO. Like I said, this works for me, and I'm sure if you try it, you'll feel the same. It's just one less thing to worry about in this already mixed up world that I love.

Let me know if you want another time on how I get inspired once I'm already out and about. Yes, coffee first, but thats only the start.
