Are you checking out social media posts of some photographers out there and start to feel a little disconnected? Start thinking to yourself that they shoot in the most amazing places with the perfect environment. Well don't, you could have those shots too, it just takes some visualization and manipulation. Before you get all trigger happy and start clicking away, take a broad look around of all the visual elements surrounding your subject and see whats going to work in this frame. Example, my brother and I often go out together and shoot the same subject, when I look at the photos after it looks like a total different shot. Same palce, same subject, just different POV and it makes a world of a difference. Ask yourself, is the backdrop competing or complimenting, is it too dark or blinding, to busy, too plain, too colorful or just plain old boring! Could a different point of view remove distracting elements from the composition? Should I digitally alter the photos post production or now, (ask that person to take two steps out of your frame, ask politely and they'll move) this will take a little more time but go a long way when you see your final pic with 1,000 likes!
