Since Photoshop and Lightroom are such a widely used and versatile programs for digital enhancements I would highly recommend acquiring these programs. If you have never used an image enhancement program before, I would consider spending some time reading books or even watching YouTube tutorials to grasp just the basic functions of these programs. There are plenty of websites with corses dedicated on teaching these programs, I love lynda.com but there are also plenty of free ones, and that's where I would start. With these skills in the "Digital Darkroom" you will be able to bring the quality of your images to their full epic potential in preparation for instagram.com & facebook.com in no time.
